The Global Ecovillage Network GEN Ghana is in partnership with the Gaia Education to offer education for sustainable development called the Ecovillage Design Education. (EDE)
The EDE provides a 5 dimensional concept that empowers participants with community development skills that enhances sustainability. These 5 dimensional concepts are in the economic, ecological, socio-cultural, worldview and participatory design skills in community building.

Ecovillage Design Curriculum
The Ecovillage Design Curriculum has a wide range of practical application and is full of innovative materials, ideas and tools that have been developed and tested in ecovillage communities and urban transition settings worldwide. Ghana has held its first Ecovillage Design Education (EDE) at the Kumasi Institute of Tropical Agriculture, KITA in Kumasi. www.kitaghana.org. There were 43 participants at the EDE that developed 8 eco-strategies for promoting ecovillages at the local levels.
The next EDE is scheduled to come off at the Ghana Permaculture Institute based on Techiman www.permacultureghana.wordpress.com
